Sr. Machinist
Location: San Diego, CA - Manufacturing facility

JOB SUMMARY: Under limited supervision, responsible for all aspects of exacting tolerance machining. Fabrication, repair, maintenance and calibration to tools, dies, jigs, fixtures and instruments. Recommends revisions in design and/or substitutions in materials based on machinability or fabrication problems encountered. Sets-up and operates all types of tool room equipment to exacting tolerance. Satisfactorily operate all types of standard machine shop equipment such as EDM, CNC Milling, Surface Grinder with minimum supervision. Performs other tasks as requested by the supervisor

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Three (3) years machine shop experience.
• Must have a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the processes in their practical trade.
• Ability to make Surfcam CNC programs.
• Ability to operate Mitsubishi EDM.
• Flexibility to work different shift as needed.
• 10 or more years of manual on-the-job training
• Good hand-eye coordination.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent, plus 7 or more years of practical on-the-job experience.
• Technical related school preferred.
