COMPANY HISTORY

Kyocera America, Inc. of San Diego, California was founded in 1987, yet its U.S. manufacturing operations have been a part of the Kyocera Group for nearly 30 years. In fact, when Kyocera opened its original San Diego plant in 1971, it became the first Japanese corporation with production facilities in the state of California. The company's substantial growth in manufacturing since then represents our commitment to supporting the "Digital Revolution" in telecommunications and computers -- a revolution that's making our lives more productive, more fulfilling and more enjoyable each year.

Semiconductor Package Products and Services
Kyocera is a world leader in semiconductor package products. Our San Diego facility is the world's #1 producer of metallized ceramic packages for Radio Frequency and Microwave devices, a technology that's essential to wireless telecommunications.

Kyocera America, Inc. also offers a complete line of multilayer ceramic and organic material packages, for semiconductors ranging from the latest personal computer chips to ASICs and mainframe processors. To complement these products, we offer state-of-the-art flip-chip and wire-bond semiconductor packaging services and a full range of electronic plating services.

Semiconductor Package Facilities
Kyocera America, Inc. operates a 288,000-ft2 manufacturing center in San Diego, as well as a network of 11 direct sales offices and five design centers to create engineering partnerships with customers all over the world. We also work closely with Kyocera Mexicana, S.A. de C.V. of Tijuana, Mexico to meet the broadest possible range of semiconductor packaging needs as the world's Total Package Supplier.

Organization
Kyocera America, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kyocera International, Inc. of San Diego, CA, the regional management headquarters for Kyocera companies in North America.
