Kyocera is the world's largest manufacturer of single crystal sapphire products.
Our high quality single crystal sapphire material offers superior mechanical properties, chemical stability and light transmission.
These characteristics make it an ideal material for applications such as GaAs carrier plates, Blue LED and laser diodes, high speed IC chips, LCD projector windows, POS scanner windows, microwave plasma tubes, thinfilm substrates and various opto-electronic and mechanical components.
Kyocera also offers AR (anti-reflective) and polarizing coating capabilities.
Kyocera mass produces single crystal sapphire in a vertically integrated manner. From "pulling up" the raw material using the EFG (edge-defined film-fed growth method) to final machining, lapping, polishing and joining to other materials.
EFG METHOD:
Advantages of the EFG method include:
- Large Size Capability
- Availability of Many Diverse Shapes
- Crystal Orientation Control
