CONES • CAPSTANS • DRAW RINGS
CONES and CAPSTANS are available for single and multiwire drawing machines in numerous models both foreign and domestic. ROLLS are custom-designed and mainly used in fine wire slip and fine wire tub type drawing machines. Please see the section on material selection for information regarding typical applications.

DRAW RINGS are mostly used in heavy duty wire drawing applications, such as tandem rod breakdown (large rings can also be manufactured for cone type rod breakdown and intermediate machines) where rod typically measures from 5/16" to 1/2" in diameter. Zirconia ceramic, possessing very high bending strength and excellent fracture toughness, is the undisputed material of choice for rod breakdown and intermediate wire drawing. We manufacture rings up to 24" in diameter.

PULLEYS
PULLEYS are used on all types of wire manufacturing machinery. Since most pulleys are driven by the wire, a light-weight design with the lowest moment of inertia is desired, especially when drawing fine and ultrafine wires. The composite design is recommended for all pulleys. The ceramic component is usually made of alumina, but where superior finish or bending strength is important, zirconia is preferred. The metallic components are selected according to the application.
