Kyocera Introduces New Family of Color STN Liquid Crystal Display Panels
Vancouver, WA -- September 17, 2002 -- Kyocera today announced a new KCG series of color STN liquid crystal display (LCD) panels featuring a compatible electrical interface across three sizes and two formats. The KCG062 is available in HVGA format (640 x 240 dots) and the KCG047 and KCG057 are both available in QVGA format (320 x 240 dots).

Kyocera's electrical interface compatibility provides the opportunity to design an array of products using LCDs of various dimensions that share the same interface. The results are: reduced engineering time and development costs, and improved speed to market.

In addition to sharing the same electrical interface, each Kyocera KCG series color STN LCD panel features an on-board DC/DC converter and compatible CFL backlight connector, which reduce power-supply costs by making only two voltages necessary (for logic and backlight).
