Kyocera offers silicon nitride (SN287) RF windows for gyrotron and klystron applications. Nuclear fusion experiments with large helical device (LHD) coil equipment involve high levels of electrical energy provided by a millimeter-wave "gyrotron" microwave oscillator. Kyocera's SN287 window facilitates the penetration of 170GHz radiation with excellent high-frequency characteristics and low dielectric loss. Our refined ceramic-to-metal bonding technology and non-oxide ceramics are also applied in super-high vacuum components.
