Ceratip Introduces 2:1 Magic Drills

MOUNTAIN HOME, NC (June 23, 1999) -- Innovative 3:1 and 4:1 Magic Drills have established Ceratip Cutting Tools as a growing force in the indexable drilling market. Building on this success, Ceratip recently added the 2:1 length to round out its Magic Drill product line. The 2:1 Magic Drills are offered in inch sizes ranging in diameter from .562” to 2.000”.

The ZCMT inserts provide four available corners for increased efficiency, and the free cutting design reduces resistance. The ZCMT inserts are offered in three grades. Coated carbide grade, PR660, is recommended for low speed applications and operations requiring toughness. It is the first choice for most indexable drilling applications. Micro-grain coated carbide, PR930, is recommended for higher speed applications requiring more wear resistance. Uncoated carbide, KW10, is recommended for cast iron and nonferrous applications.

Ceratip is part of the worldwide Kyocera Group (NYSE: KYO), which had consolidated net revenues of $6.1 billion during the year ended March 31, 1999.
