KYOCERA Introduces New Silver Mirror Coating Technology

Vancouver, WA – February 12, 2004 – Kyocera Industrial Ceramics Corporation, Lens Product Division, has introduced a new and patented silver coating technology to produce high-reflectance mirrors for a wide range of advanced optical applications, including LCD and digital projectors.

Kyocera’s silver mirrors feature excellent durability, with reflectivity of more than 98% across the visible spectrum and into near infrared, surpassing the performance of existing products.

In addition, Kyocera’s superior adhesion technology allows silver to be coated onto virtually any substrate material -- including glass, ceramic and even plastic. The coating can be applied to flat, curved, spherical or aspherical surfaces for maximum design flexibility.
