Below is an actual picture of the heaters on a 200 dot per inch thin film thermal printhead. Common bus is at the top. Conductors to driver ICs are at the bottom. This is the same orientation as the sketch on the previous 'What is Thin Film' document. There are 8 heaters per millimeter.

Below is a corresponding picture of 200 dpi thick film printhead heater elements. The electrodes are invisible where they pass under the heater/resistor material.
