Fairfield, New Jersey -- January 2002 -- Kyocera Mita America, Inc. one of the world's leading digital imaging companies, announces the launch of its newest digital copier/printer systems, the KM-4530 and KM-5530. Both models offer printing and scanning options combined with a very aggressive cost per copy. Additionally, both units can be combined for Tandem Copy or Print.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW
Both systems are fully enabled console digital copiers with a standard paper supply of 3700 sheets, 128MB of Bitmap Memory and a 20.0 GB HDD, standard 100 Sheet Document Processor and Stackless Duplex. Optional Network-Ready Print System and Network Scan System make the KM-4530 and KM-5530 the ideal comprehensive imaging systems for the busy workgroup.

TECHNOLOGY
The KM-4530 and KM-5530 utilize pipe frame construction that prevents mainframe distortion when in use. A guaranteed Organic Photo Conductor with yields of 400K for the KM-4530 and 500K for the KM-5530 along with a 30K Toner Yield foster an aggressive cost per copy. Preventative Maintenance Schedules are consistent with the drum yields set for each model. The KM-4530 and KM-5530 follow the Kyocera Mita concepts of long life components and reduced maintenance allowing for the KM-4530 and KM-5530 to be ranked as "Best In Class" for Scheduled Maintenance. 1800 x 600 dpi (Interpolated) copy resolution with 256 levels of gray is offered by both models.

MEMORY MANAGEMENT
Both systems come standard with 128MB of Bitmap Memory and a 20.0GB HDD that has the ability to store up to 80,000 images. Separate printer memory, standard with 32MB, is upgradeable to 256MB. There is also an optional Printer HDD that enables higher end print functions such as Virtual Mailboxes, and Barcode Printing. The 20.0GB HDD allows the user to access Advanced Document Management Tools such as Job Build and Synergy Print Box for the creation and storing of documents.

PRODUCTIVITY
The KM-4530 and KM-5530 are extremely productive and easy to use.

With a brisk 3.9 second FCOT, both models run beyond the rated mainframe speed of 45 and 55 CPM. Due to a very productive Document Processor the OPM speed of the KM-4530 is 50 and the KM-5530 is 62. The standard Stackless Duplex runs at efficiency rates of 85% for the KM-5530 and 90% for the KM-4530. The Wide Touch Screen Interface is totally customizable. Users can add and delete functions and create Shortcut Keys directly on the TSI.

OUTSTANDING QUALITY
Both the KM-4530 and KM-5530 deliver outstanding image quality and versatility to the user. Copies may be made in a wide variety of imaging modes including Auto, Text, Photo and Eco Mode. Recycled paper, along with 110 lb. stock, can be ran through the Multi-Purpose Tray to create professional looking documents.

PAPER HANDLING
Each model comes standard with a 5 way 3700 Sheet Paper Supply, a 100 Sheet Scan thru Document Processor, Standard Embedded Stackless Duplex, and for the KM-5530 exclusively, an optional 4K Sheet Side Paper Deck.

The KM-4530 and KM-5530 allow end users to connect to their networks seamlessly. Optional Printing System (Q) is a network enabled printing system that connects to all of the major network choices available. Optional Scan System (D) enables users to transform a KM-4530 and KM-5530 into a powerful network scanner. Scan to e-mail, Scan to File and TWAIN Scanning are supported.
