KYOCERA Mita America Honored With Two BERTL’s Best® Spring 2004 Awards

KYOCERA's FS-C5016N and KM-5035 recognized for their performance, high quality output and cost efficiency

Fairfield, New Jersey, June 16, 2004 -- Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, announced today that it has been honored with two BERTL’s Best® Spring 2004 Awards.

The BERTL’s Best Awards recognize the best in digital imaging technology and innovation. In evaluating the 2004 Best Awards, BERTL reviewed every major, new corporate-level printer, copier, color, production and multifunctional device introduced to the market as of January 1, 2004.

Kyocera Mita America has been awarded BERTL Best Awards in the following categories:

Best 41-50ppm Monochrome MFP
The BERTL’s Best Award for “Best 41-50ppm Monochrome MFP” is bestowed on the product that delivers the most extensive and useful functionality for workgroups and centralized departments. The award was given to the KM-5035 for its low entry-level price, flexible upgrade path and wide range of finishing and scanning options.

Best Cost-Efficient Desktop Color Printer
The BERTL’s Best Award for “Most Cost-Efficient Desktop Color Printer” is bestowed on the desktop product that delivers good quality color printing with the lowest potential running costs. The FS-C5016N was honored for its cost-efficient and environmentally friendly technology that reduces waste and can result in significant operating cost savings for a full-color office printer.

“Kyocera is very proud to be recognized by BERTL as offering the Best 41-50 mononchrome MFP and Best Cost-Efficient desktop color printer,” said Steven Pearl, director, product and solutions marketing. “It’s even more impressive that the FS-C5016N has received this award since the system is based on ECOSYS technology which BERTL recognized as one of its BERTL’s Best in 2003. These types of awards further reinforce our commitment to providing the end user with cost-effective document solutions that are designed to efficiently manage the output demands of fast-paced workgroups.”

“Kyocera’s ECOSYS technology is leading the way for cost-effective, environmentally friendly digital output solutions,” said Carmel Rowley, chief executive officer of BERTL. “BERTL is continually impressed with Kyocera’s ability to develop high performance, reliable products that offer the lowest total cost of ownership.”

BERTL’s Best Awards are given to companies that have delivered leading edge and technologically advanced products and solutions. Devices were analyzed across a wide range of parameters, including overall value for the money, competitive advantage, accessibility for those who are physically challenged or visually impaired, design and build quality, standard functions, functionality, value-added software, network management utilities, return on investment, and more.
