KYOCERA Wireless and Alienware® Announce Agreement to Co-Develop Gaming Accessories for CDMA Wireless Handsets

Industry Leaders to Address Growing Market for Cell Phone Gaming with Innovative Co-Branded Accessories for Console-Like Gaming Experience

San Diego and Miami -- (March 9, 2005) -- Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones and devices, and Alienware® Corporation today announced an agreement to leverage both companies' recognized brands in the co-development of advanced gaming accessories for mobile phones. The new relationship will match Kyocera Wireless' reputation for making easy-to-use wireless handsets and accessories with Alienware's ability to deliver robust gaming solutions for a wide variety of platforms, enabling a true gaming experience on Kyocera's award-winning CDMA wireless phones.

"Kyocera Wireless recognizes that gaming on wireless phones is a rapidly growing market, driven not only by gamers who want a rich gaming experience on their handsets but also by our carrier customers' desire to drive incremental revenue through game downloads," said Noel Sobelman, accessories business segment director at Kyocera Wireless Corp. "To drive that revenue, the gaming experience on the phone needs to be as enjoyable as possible, enabled by bigger screens, better games and easy-to-use accessories. Alienware's history and reputation in the gaming industry makes it an ideal company with which to co-develop gaming accessories that address this savvy and brand-loyal gamer audience using Kyocera phones."

Alienware has produced some of the gaming industry's most popular products, including the award-winning Area-51® and Aurora™ desktop systems, the Area-51m 7700 mobile desktop system, and the Area-51m notebook system. Kyocera Wireless has licensing agreements with some of the wireless industry's leading game publishers including JAMDAT Mobile, Superscape and Tetris to bring games to its complete lineup of CDMA cellular phones.

"Alienware is excited to team with Kyocera Wireless and secure a foothold in the wireless phone gaming arena with a company who shares our commitment to deliver the very latest technological innovations to customers," said Frances Alvarez, director of licensing for Alienware. "Any gamer will tell you that an enjoyable gaming experience depends heavily on the quality and usability of the hardware provided by a company like Alienware, and we look forward to working with Kyocera to take cell phone gaming to another level."

Kyocera Wireless and Alienware plan to unveil their first collaborative product at the CTIA Wireless Industry Trade Show in New Orleans on March 14, 2005.
