Kyocera Wireless Corp. Names Fredrik Torstensson VP of International Sales & Business Development

SAN DIEGO - Oct. 9, 2002 -Kyocera Wireless Corp., North America's leading manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones, today named Fredrik Torstensson its vice president of international sales and business development. In this role, Torstensson will oversee sales efforts in Asia Pacific, Europe, India, and Latin America, and be charged with managing the identification and prioritization of new products, technologies and market opportunities.

Torstensson brings more than 10 years of engineering and management experience in the wireless industry, most recently as executive vice president and general manager at Oz Communication, an instant communication software company. He also is a former director of business development at Ericsson North America's consumer products division.

"Fredrik's has demonstrated a strong fundamental ability to identify business opportunities and manage them to fruition. International sales and business development both require a leader with this kind of vision," said Dave Whalen, corporate vice president of global sales and marketing at Kyocera Wireless Corp. Torstensson earned an advanced degree in engineering from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden, along with a master of international management degree from the University of Dallas, Texas.
