KYOCERA Brings Affordable Fashion and Rich Features to Verizon Wireless with KX414 BREW-Enabled Phone

Kyocera's KX414 Series Handset Offers Get It NowSM Service, Enhanced Color Display and User Personalization in Time for the Holidays

San Diego -- November 24, 2003 -- Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones, today announced that Verizon Wireless is offering Kyocera's KX414 phone to price-conscious consumers looking for an ideal combination of functionality and fashion. The KX414, part of Kyocera's new Phantom™ Series, features optional user-changeable "masks" around the phone's enhanced-color display and BREW technology for access to the full suite of Verizon Wireless' Get It NowSM downloadable content.

The Kyocera KX414's changeable masks allow consumers to alter the appearance of their phones to suit their varying moods and never be seen with the same phone twice. Featuring high-speed CDMA2000 1X and 1.5 megabytes of memory, the KX414 allows users to take advantage of wireless data capabilities for text messaging with animation, email, downloadable screensavers, and polyphonic ringtones. The KX414 is available nationwide from Verizon Wireless for only $69.99 with a 2-year customer service agreement.

"We tested our Phantom series against other phones at its price point and KX414 was consistently the hands-down winner with consumers," said Don McGuire, vice president of global marketing at Kyocera Wireless Corp. "The KX414's rich feature set and attractive styling make it an excellent complement to Verizon Wireless' award-winning Get It Now service this holiday season."

Kyocera's KX414 also includes a variety of standard features such as voice-activated dialing, games, vibrate alert and predictive text-input for sending quick notes to friends and family. For the Verizon Wireless customer on the go, the KX414 also supports a variety of optional accessories such as a sport clip and hands-free car kit for increased mobility and style.
