Time Warner Cable's Fleet Intelligence Fleet Management Solution Featuring KYOCERA 200 Module Chosen as Finalist for Prestigious 3D cdmA-List Award

SAN DIEGO and MEMPHIS, TN - (September 22, 2005) - Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless handsets and devices, and Time Warner Cable (TWC), today announced that Time Warner Cable (TWC), Mid-South Division, has been chosen as a finalist for a 2005 3G cdmA-List™ Award for its implementation of Fleet Intelligence™ by Sapias, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise-class mobile resource management solutions. Nominated in the large company category by Kyocera Wireless, TWC's Fleet Intelligence is a flexible, richly featured and cost effective system that allows real-time data communication virtually anytime, anywhere via the award-winning Kyocera 200 Module. Fleet Intelligence has been approved for use with the largest CDMA wireless carrier in North America.

The 3G cdmA-List Awards acknowledge enterprises, public agencies and non-profit organizations for their leading wireless data solutions based on 3G CDMA technology. A-List solutions demonstrate creativity and exceed business objectives by introducing higher return on investment, lowering operating expenses and increasing user satisfaction.

Fleet Intelligence allows TWC the ability to not just monitor but manage its entire Mid-South Division vehicle network including more than 200 special purpose trucks operating simultaneously in three states and respond to challenges and problems quickly and efficiently to significantly improve productivity and customer satisfaction. The TWC Fleet Intelligence integration includes a Location Messaging Unit (LMU) provided by TechnoCom and an Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) platform giving dispatchers and drivers the power to communicate automatically, in real-time.

For instance, when a driver is stopped for longer than expected on a job assignment, dispatchers receive automatic updates and can re-route or re-assign tasks using a "closest vehicle" feature. The feature allows TWC to increase the jobs completed each day and decrease overall miles traveled and resources consumed.

TWC's Fleet Intelligence also includes an innovative "Cable Leak Detection Analysis" application, which automatically conducts tests for cable rf signal leaks outside the Time Warner plant and reports results immediately without driver intervention. Ultimately, this application results in a greater number of leaks detected as well as more accurate reporting and prioritizing for quicker repairs. With Fleet Intelligence, drivers have more time for the heart of their business - taking care of customer needs.

"We nominated the easy-to-integrate Fleet Intelligence system for its creativity and success in improving overall fleet productivity and for providing a fast and positive ROI to TWC," said Dean Fledderjohn, general manager M2M division, Kyocera Wireless. "That it was chosen as a finalist for the prestigious cdmA List Award underscores TWC's leadership and commitment to delivering the best service and products to its customers at the best price possible."

"Fleet Intelligence allows us to manage our fleet better than ever, freeing up time and resources for customer care," said Steve Phillips, director, TWC Memphis. "If I had the choice of adding another supervisor or integrating Fleet Intelligence for another area, I'd choose Fleet Intelligence hands down. Thanks to innovative, cutting-edge technology by Sapias and Kyocera, we can manage more drivers with fewer supervisors and do a better job of it."

Hosted by QUALCOMM, the 3G cdmA-List awards will be presented at CTIA Wireless I.T. on September 27, 2005.
