KYOCERA Mita America Announces Powerful Version of Award Winning Document Capture Workflow Solution

KYOcapture 2.01 Integrates With Leading Document Management Software Applications

Fairfield, New Jersey – November 1, 2005 – Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, today introduced KYOcapture version 2.01, an upgraded, highly functional edition of its award-winning server-based document capture workflow solution. KYOcapture 2.01, powered by AutoStore technology, features a suite of enhanced features, including cutting-edge color scanning capability through the KM-C2630 color MFP, and greater compatibility with leading document management software programs such as ABBY Forms Recognition and Westbrook’s Fortis and FileMagic.

KYOcapture 2.01 enables select Kyocera MFPs to seamlessly capture, process and route paper or electronic-based documents to multiple locations and document management systems. As open-architecture middleware, KYOcapture offers one-click integration with existing or new document management systems, acting as a secure portal through which these documents travel.

KYOcapture 2.01 offers a suite of optional features such as Virtual Image Processing (VIP) and ABBYY Forms Recognition to help corporate customers streamline their document workflow processes directly from the control panel of their multifunctional products (MFPs). In addition, new components can communicate with Westbrook’s Fortis and FileMagic document management software programs, which are fully customizable and can capture and process an unlimited number of pages, allowing end users to index documents at the MFP and then route to either application.

ABBYY Enterprise Forms Recognition is a client-server solution for the input of paper forms using any of the KYOcapture modules. This particular function is optimized for industries that place a premium on forms-based document management, including banking (for credit applications), hotels (for guest registration), insurance (for enrollment and claim forms), marketing (for survey questionnaires) and government (for tax returns and voter registration). Administrators in these industries can set document rules through KYOcapture 2.01, thereby ensuring that the forms are scanned appropriately. With no additional effort from office administrators, office forms are automatically adjusted for alignment, brightness, contrast and clarity.

“Improving document workflow positively affects a company’s performance and bottom line,” said Peter Hendrick, vice president, marketing, Kyocera Mita America. “Document management continues to be a critical issue as businesses look for smarter, faster, and simpler ways to manage their information. KYOcapture 2.01 is a versatile document management solution that lets companies complete their work more efficiently.”

VIP is an integrated process component for image enhancement. It works with scanned color documents from any source, such as PC scanners, MFPs, digital copiers or LAN fax servers, and immediately checks for and adjusts alignment (skew), brightness, contrast and image clarity.

Through custom keys on the device operation panel, KYOcapture lets users capture documents and content from Kyocera devices, then process them via embedded character recognition technologies including Optical Character Recognition (OCR), Intelligent Character Recognition (ICR) and Forms Recognition. These documents can then be routed to existing document management systems including Fortis and FileMagic, Microsoft SharePoint Portal server, Documentum, Interwoven, Hyland and others.

KYOcapture 2.01 is fully integrated with the KM-C2630 color MFP and the following monochrome MFPs: KM-3035, KM- 4035, KM-5035, KM-6030 and KM-8030.

KYOcapture 2.01 is available through authorized Kyocera Mita America independent dealers. To find a dealer, log onto Kyocera’s dealer locator at www.kyoceramita.com/us. To download a trial version of KYOcapture 2.01, visit www.kyocapture.com.
