KYOCERA Wireless Congratulates Armstrong Repair Center on its 3G A-List Award

KYOCERA Passport KPC650 PC Card Used in Winning Solution to Provide Connectivity for Technicians in the Field

San Diego, CA -- (November 12, 2007) -- Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless handsets and devices, congratulates Armstrong Repair Center Inc. on earning a 3G A-List™ Award for its innovative field service solution powered by the Kyocera Passport KPC650 PC Card. The Armstrong solution, designed by Zumasys and Sierra Bravo, brings mobile computing and communications to Armstrong equipment repair technicians at work in the field via an HP Compaq nx7400 laptop with a Kyocera KPC650 EV-DO card running on the Verizon Wireless BroadbandAccess network.

"Kyocera's suite of data solutions including PC cards, M2M modules and the KR1 Mobile Router, use the inherent advantages of CDMA 3G networks to make seamless communications and true mobility a reality for enterprises, government and non-profit organizations," said Dean Fledderjohn, general manager of the M2M product line at Kyocera Wireless. "The Armstrong field-services solution is a great example of how smart investments in mobile technology can improve overall efficiency, increase return on investment, lower operating expenses, and increase customer and employee satisfaction. Congratulations to Armstrong for its foresight and innovative spirit."

The Armstrong solution uses HP Compaq laptop computers along with the Kyocera Passport KPC650 PC Card and Verizon's Wireless BroadbandAccess network, for always-on, mobile Internet communications and real-time data exchange between the office and the field. In addition to improving communications with dispatchers about new jobs and schedule changes, technicians can log repair notes and submit paperwork quickly from the road instead of returning to the office after a long day at work. In addition, they can download wiring schematics and other critical manufacturer information on the job, improving first-time success. The solution eliminated a key barrier to growth for Armstrong, allowing the company to expand its coverage area without requiring technicians to drive back and forth from the office.

The Qualcomm-sponsored 3G A-list Awards program, now in its fifth year, recognizes innovative and successful enterprise wireless data solutions based on third-generation (3G) CDMA standards. Winning solutions were selected for demonstrating creativity and innovation, overall business impact and for helping winning companies and organizations exceed business objectives by introducing higher return on investment, lower operating expenses and increased user satisfaction.
