KYOCERA MITA America Launches TASKalfa Black & White Multifunctional Product Series Combining Performance and Ease of Use that Today’s Businesses Demand

The TASKalfa 820 and TASKalfa 620 Deliver Industry-leading Performance, Ultra-Reliability, and Value to Black & White Printing, Copying and Scanning

Fairfield, N.J. – April 21, 2009 – Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, today announced the expansion of its flagship TASKalfa series with the launch of two black & white, multifunctional products: the TASKalfa 820 (82 pages-per-minute) and TASKalfa 620 (62 ppm).

Combining the best of engineering with the needs of high-volume workgroups and enterprises, the TASKalfa 820/620 offer crisp 600 dpi image quality with fast and efficient print, copy and scan functionality – all in a sleek black and silver exterior design. Built upon the success of Kyocera’s TASKalfa 500ci series of color MFPs, the TASKalfa 820/620 is designed to offer unparalleled performance and ease of use, two important TASKalfa hallmarks that make people feel that their document imaging task is the most important task.

Based on the same engine technology that successfully completed an unprecedented 2.5 million page extended term reliability test*, these new models utilize the company’s patented Amorphous Silicon (ASi) drum technology delivering rated yields of 4.8 million pages for the TASKalfa 820, and 3.6 million pages for the TASKalfa 620. In addition, the TASKalfa 820/620 deliver more business “uptime” through an industry leading 500,000 page preventive maintenance (PM) schedule. This incredible PM cycle creates longer intervals of time between required service visits and helps minimize maintenance costs for end-users.

“As organizations seek to control costs and optimize their return on investment, the TASKalfa 820 and TASKalfa 620 offer ultra-reliable performance that simplifies any businesses day to day activities,” said William Cassidy, associate director, Product and Solutions Marketing, Kyocera Mita America. “Whether printing, copying or scanning, the TASKalfa series is built to enhance the end-user experience with every job.”

Power, Performance and Flexibility Features

From an intuitive, large touch screen panel, end-users can easily navigate the functionality and options of the TASKalfa 820/620 multifunctional system.

Both models offer dual 525 sheet adjustable paper drawers, dual 1,500 sheet letter decks and a 100 sheet multi-purpose tray for a robust standard paper capacity of 4,150 sheets. For increased paper-usage, the TASKalfa 820/620 can be configured with the choice of two 4,000 sheet large capacity trays to increase paper capacity to 8,150 sheets.

Designed to address a variety of configuration needs, the TASKalfa 820/620 offers an optional 4,000 sheet large capacity trays for letter sized sheets and a 4,000 sheet large capacity tray that is adjustable for letter, legal or ledger sized sheets.

To ensure fast scanning and copying performance, both models use a 260 sheet dual scan document processor that operates at speeds up to 100 images-per-minute (ipm) for quick processing of multiple paper sizes and mixed originals. The TASKalfa 820/620 offers optional scan to e-mail, scan to folder and scan to FTP capabilities. The solution set also offers variable 200 to 600 dpi resolution and can support both PDF and TIFF file formats.

For an enterprise with complex finishing needs, the TASKalfa 820/620 offers multi-position stapling and hole-punch. The ability to create saddle-stitched booklets from either the desktop or hardcopy originals is available with an optional booklet folder.

Businesses seeking an enhanced sorting capability can utilize an optional five-bin multi-tray for a 3,000 sheet finisher, with 13 lb Bond to 90 lb Index, which allows multiple users to easily separate finished documents into a designated tray for seamless operations. The finisher can support letter to ledger sized sheets. A booklet folder for a 3,000 sheet finisher for folding up to 16 sheets for letter, legal or ledger sized booklets with 16 lb Bond to 110 lb Index is also optional.
