KYOCERA Expands SMARTtech MFP Series; Introduces Two New TASKalfa Color Products

On the heels of fulfilling a growing business imaging need by launching the imageextremely well-received Black and White TASKalfa 305 / 255 last month, Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, today introduced two new color counterparts, the TASKalfa 255c and TASKalfa 205c Color Multifunctional Products (MFPs). These new MFP devices offer efficient, business color with core functionality including the features businesses require most, with highly simplified operation. Kyocera's SMARTtech, Simple Management and Replacement Technology, continues to put the customer in command of their business by increasing productivity, and overall ease of use.

In support of today's launch, Kyocera has expanded its broad, nationwide advertising and marketing campaign supporting the new SMARTtech products under the banner of "Innovation Made Simple". The campaign boasts the unique TCO benefits of Kyocera's award-winning technology these MFPs will deliver, according to company executives.

"SMARTtech innovation gives Kyocera the ability to expand the market for customers wanting to add color to their office by lowering the entry price for our highly-reliable products," said Michael Pietrunti, president and CEO, Kyocera Mita America. "Positive response for our introductory SMARTtech launch last month points to the fact that there is broad market appeal for powerful, but simplified MFPs."

Simplified and Secure Color Document Imaging

The TASKalfa 255c/205c give businesses the core features and functionality of an A3 MFP, with the configuration and price point of an A4 MFP-based platform. Designed with Kyocera's long-life technology, including the company's organic photoconductor (OPC) drums, these new color MFPs live up to Kyocera's promise of industry low total cost of ownership (TCO), delivering maximum business 'uptime' with no sacrifice to color image quality or performance.

Benefits of Kyocera's new SMARTtech Color MFPs include:Easy to print, copy, scan all in color and fax when neededDelivering the Lowest Total Cost of Ownership in its ClassIncredibly easy to operateUltra reliable for maximum uptime

Kyocera's new MFPs are designed with information and document security as a priority, coming equipped with RAM-based memory of 1GB, upgradable to 2GB. RAM-based memory means that when the device is turned off, all resident data is eliminated. There is no hard disk drive to retain sensitive data indefinitely, which could be deemed a security risk and require additional processes to ensure strategic business mandates are met.

The TASKalfa 255c and TASKalfa 205c can be configured with Kyocera's Card Authentication solution to locally limit physical access to the MFP via HID/Prox. The new MFPs also offer a secure print feature that requires passwords for output directly at the device. Additionally, the TASKalfa 255c/205c enables administrators and compliance officers to give access only to those individuals with pre-approved credentials, when they integrate with Active Directory.

The TASKalfa 255c and TASKalfa 205c feature affordable, business color printing, copying, scanning and optional fax/network fax for high speed document delivery. Other features include:Color output speeds of 25 pages per minutes (ppm) and 20 ppm respectivelyStandard automatic duplex with a 1,600 sheet maximum paper capacity, and the ability to accommodate heavier paper stock (up to 140 lb Index).Standard 50-sheet document processor featuring scanning options including Scan-to-Email using the built in LDAP feature or QWERTY keyboard available from the color touch screen control panel.Kyocera's patented long-life technology, delivering maximum business "uptime" and maintenance through a class leading 200,000 page preventive maintenance (PM) schedule.
