KYOCERA MITA America Names Winner of the 2011 Technical Service Award Competition

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – August 23, 2011 – Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, today announced the winner and regional finalists of the 2011 Kyocera Mita America Technical Service Award competition in the United States.

Kyocera is proud to announce that Mike Parmer from Quality Digital Office Solutions in Lancaster, Pennsylvania as winner of the Kyocera 2011 Service Award Competition, giving him the distinction of being named "The Best Kyocera Technician in the United States." Mr. Parmer received a cash prize and an all expense paid trip to Japan, China, and Hong Kong to meet with Kyocera executives, tour Kyocera facilities and experience the local sights and culture.

"Each of the Certified Kyocera dealership technicians who competed for the 2011 Technical Service Award competition demonstrated a deep knowledge of Kyocera products, and we’re proud that our certified training programs have developed such a talented group across our national network of dealerships," said Terry Knopsnyder, vice president of Engineering at Kyocera Mita America. "This competition provides a unique way for Certified Kyocera dealership technicians to demonstrate their abilities, and we’re honored to have such a great group supporting our channel partners."

The U.S. competition was open to each certified technician within authorized Kyocera dealerships, and was held May through August 2011. Top scorers from Kyocera's five regions advanced to a final round of competition, held at Kyocera Mita's Dallas-based National Training Center. The regional winners were:

 

  • Mike Parmer of Quality Digital Office Solutions, in Lancaster, Pennsylvania;
  • John Stich of UNA Copy, Inc., in Amarillo, Texas;
  • Casey Zaccaria of Desert Images Office Equipment, Inc., in Yucca Valley, California;
  • Darren Smith of Omega Office Systems, Inc., in Sarasota, Florida;
  • Lance Roberts of Century Business Products, Inc., in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

In addition to the U.S. event, similar Kyocera Mita Technical Service Award competitions are also being held in Canada and Europe.
