Yashica Introduces EZ Mate Camera Outfit With Oversized Viewfinder

Extra Large Viewfinder Helps Users Compose Pictures Quickly and Easily

LAS VEGAS, NV -- February 03, 2000 -- Kyocera Optics, Inc. announces the Yashica EZ Mate Camera Outfit, an easy-to-use camera that truly lives up to the title "point and shoot." The EZ Mate outfit, which comes complete with a case, film and two AA batteries, makes it easy to start taking pictures right away. The EZ Mate Outfit is being introduced by Kyocera Optics, Inc. at the 2000 Photo Marketing Association show, February 3-6 at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Booth #N61.

The most notable feature of the Yashica EZ Mate is the oversized viewfinder. At over 200% larger than most standard camera viewfinders, the EZ Mate's viewfinder makes it easy to compose and shoot without having to squint and re-adjust the camera.

The camera uses a 30mm, f6.4, 3-element coated lens system to ensure bright and colorful pictures and includes many features that help even the most novice photographer take spectacular as well as memorable photographs.

The EZ Mate uses the Yashica BBS (Bright Bulb System) to greatly minimize the annoying "red eye" effect that other bright "pre-flash" systems can cause. Unlike other cameras, the EZ Mates flash does not startle the subject or confuse them into thinking that the picture has already been taken. The camera also has a special ridged surface that warns the photographer if their finger is covering the flash.

Other features include Automatic Film Speed Setting, which sets the camera to ISO settings of 100, 200 or 400 automatically, a ten-second self-timer, a built in lens cover that automatically protects the cameras lens when the camera is shut off and an Automatic Battery Shut-Off that will shut off the camera if it, or the flash, are accidentally left on for longer than 2 minutes, thus extending the battery life and saving the consumer money.

Retail locations and additional information can be obtained by calling (800) 526-0266 or by visiting the Yashica Web site at www.yashica.com.
