Kyocera Mita America and Equitrac Corp. Jointly Announce Printer Accounting Server (PAS) 2.5
Fairfield, New Jersey -- December, 2001 -- Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document imaging companies, and Equitrac Corporation, a leading provider of Document Accounting Systems and automated cost recovery solutions, jointly announce the release of Equitrac's Printer Accounting Server (PAS) 2.5.
PAS 2.5 is engineered to meet the needs of Kyocera Mita dealers and end-users in a variety of configurations to meet the needs of small and mid-size operations as well as large corporations. Due to its modular design, the product can be scaled up or down to satisfy each customer's unique needs.
PAS tracks printing and copying transactions from various devices, storing this information in a centralized database, providing administrators with advanced data analysis and decision support functionality. The system includes over 70 reports to assist administrators in making equipment selection, usage and deployment decisions.
"Between the extensive reporting included in the PAS 2.5 package and the Analysis Toolkit, it will now be possible to identify significant output cost reduction opportunities for our customers," said Rod Herzog, Director of Value-Added Marketing at Kyocera Mita America. "The Analysis Toolkit provides an excellent complement to Kyocera Mita printers and copiers by highlighting some of the lowest consumable costs in the industry."
As noted earlier, the modular design of PAS allows it to be scaled up or down in order to satisfy a wide variety of customer needs and environments. PAS also offers the ability to track color, multiple page sizes, media types and finishing options. Included is support for the most recent versions of page description languages such as PostScript 3, PCL 5e, PCL 6 and HP-GL/2. Initially developed for Windows NT, PAS has evolved to support Windows 2000, UNIX, NetWare and Macintosh.
Printer Accounting Server also integrates with PageControl Station, an advanced Ethernet-based device, which easily connects to networked or standalone copiers to track walk-up copying and record the transaction in real-time. In addition, PageControl Station works with the PAS secure document release option to provide secure network printing by holding jobs at the print server until released using a PIN or magnetic swipe card.
