KYOCERA 200 Module Selected by Distributor M2M Connectivity Indo
Indonesian-based distributor to meet the growing needs of the CDMA M2M marketplace with KYOCERA 200 Module
SAN DIEGO, Aug. 10, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global manufacturer of CDMA wireless handsets and telemetry modules, today announced that the Kyocera 200 Module has been selected as the preferred CDMA module offered by distributor M2Mconnectivity Indonesia (M2MI). The Indonesian-based distributor will leverage its broad network of developers and system integrators to identify and pursue opportunities for Kyocera's CDMA module to power machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions being deployed in the region.
The availability of Kyocera's M2M module through M2MI presents a powerful, feature-rich option for the growing number of customers seeking to deploy M2M solutions over CDMA networks. M2MI, together with Kyocera Wireless Corp., provides value added services including advance carrier certification, regional product availability and localized technical support helping customers bring M2M solutions to market quickly.

The Kyocera 200 Module is designed to enable M2M and telemetry applications such as vehicle location, SCADA, asset tracking, remote metering or security, wireless vending, exception reporting and wireless point-of-sale terminals. The module is equipped with tri-mode capability (including AMPS), A-GPS position location capability and support for IS-2000 data rates. Other features and functions include two-way Short Messaging Service (SMS) capabilities; simple and mobile IP; AT command interface; dual UARTs; analog audio; two RF connectors; high-speed packet- and circuit-switched data; and support for both 13k QCELP and EVRC vocoders.
