KYOCERA Mita KM-C2230

Fairfield, New Jersey – August 9, 2004 - Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, today introduced a new multi-functional color device, the KM-C2230. The KM-C2230 offers unparalleled reliability, superior quality color and back and white output, and a comprehensive list of finishing features that are critical to short-run projects and departmental activities.

Featuring standard PCL Print, Scan and Internet Fax, the KM-C2230 provides color output speeds of 22 pages per minute (ppm) and 35 ppm for monochrome, with a maximum monthly volume of 100,000 pages. The KM-C2230 standard features include a 500-sheet universal drawer, a 250-sheet multi-purpose drawer, with the ability to handle envelopes, full-bleed paper and up to 140 lb. Index through the multi-purpose tray or bypass. Additionally, the KM-C2230 provides the customer with an impressive list of advanced features and paper handling options, including creation of saddle stitch booklets, multi-position stapling, hole-punch and duplexing.

The device comes standard with 256MB (upgradeable to 512MB) of RAM and can include an optional 40GB HDD, which increases the device’s page memory capacity up to 10,000 sheets. In addition, when utilizing the optional HDD, it provides features such as watermark page numbers, box functionality and print to HDD.

The optional Reverse Automatic Document Feeder processes 35 scans per minute (PDF, TIFF, JPEG). Additional standard scanning features include: Scan to FTP server, FTP Client, HDD, Internet Fax and Scan-to-e-mail. Scan-to-e-mail uses Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) functionality, which allows users to access and search e-mail addresses from the corporate e-mail database. The Internet Fax option can send TIFF files as e-mail attachments to a personal computer or to the optional third tray of the finisher.

Combining Kyocera’s KM-C2230 with the optional Electronics For Imaging’s Fieryâ X3e+ embedded print controller, enables workgroups to print Adobe PostScript3, PCL6 and PCL5e from a PC or Mac. The optional embedded Fiery X3e+ print controller offers customers the ability to perform network scanning (monochrome and color), printing, internet fax and overall network management. Fiery remote scan turns the KM-C2230 into a network scanner, enabling distribution of scanned documents to multiple locations.
