Kyocera Mita Unveils a 63 Page-Per-Minute Copy and Print, Scan Digital Imaging System for Large Workgroups

Fairfield, New Jersey – October 4, 2002 - Kyocera Mita, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, today introduced the next generation of multi-functional products with the introduction of the KM-6330 Imaging System. The KM-6330 features a 63 page per minute (First copy out in 3.6 seconds) output speed and 1800 x 600 dpi image quality. The KM-6330 provides larger workgroups with a flexible and affordable document imaging solution, while providing optional connectivity for features such as printing from your desktop and network scanning.

The KM-6330 is equipped with a standard 100 sheet document processor, four-way 4,200 sheet paper supply and duplexing. The device also features a 128 MB RAM and 20 GB multi-purpose hard disk drive which can store up to 70,000 letter-size pages and allows users to retrieve prints at the push of a button. An easily readable control panel and an ultra-wide Touch Screen Interface (TSI) makes navigating the unit simpler and accurate. Additional hardware options for the KM-6330 are a multi-functional finisher with a 3,000 sheet stacker, 50 sheet multi-position edge staple, plus saddle-stitching, optional 2 and 3 hole punching and automatic V folding for a truly complete document imaging product. Customers can also choose from optional features such as tandem copy/print and a bar code reader.

“The KM-6330 is ideal for busy workgroups that need the speed and reliability that make their document imaging jobs easier,” said Michael Pietrunti, vice president of marketing at Kyocera Mita. “Connectivity is crucial in today’s work environment and the KM-6330 provides the hardware options, network solutions, performance and low-cost that will make users successful in their day-to-day operations.”

The KM-6330 can be enhanced to include optional network printing and scanning. For network printing the KM-6330 includes 32 MB of RAM, which is upgradeable to 256 MB. The optional network print system supports all popular operating systems and page description languages, including PRESCRIBE, PCL6, PCL5e and PS3 (KPDL3). Users can print directly from their desktop with fast 1200 dpi output quality. Additionally, users can integrate the KM-6330 onto the network with the recently announced IB-22 enhanced Wireless LAN Interface for all their printing needs. This interface allows users to place the system where they need it and enhance their floor space design, all without the cost of running additional network lines in the office. The network scanning capability is TWAIN compliant, and provides users the advantage of 63 page per minute scanning up to 600 dpi, Kyocera Mita’s new Document Flow System, network scan to file and scan to e-mail capability.

The KM-6330 comes with long-life components including a amorphous silicon drum and backed by the most comprehensive warranty in the industry. This translates into fewer maintenance calls, more up-time and increased productivity.
