Kyocera and Cooperative Community Energy to Sponsor Solar Energy Fair in Sebastopol, California
17-Aug
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona (July 28, 2003) – Kyocera Solar, Inc. (KSI), a world-leading supplier of photovoltaic (PV) systems, is partnering with its authorized dealer, Cooperative Community Energy (CCEnergy), to sponsor the Solar Sebastopol Fair and Celebration on Sunday, August 17 at the Sebastopol Community Center in northern California.
The City of Sebastopol has committed to install one megawatt of solar energy capacity on its municipal buildings, businesses and homes by 2005. The solar fair will kick-start this program, and serve as a forum to educate the community on how solar energy can be a viable solution to a growing range of needs.
The city of Sebastopol and CCEnergy representatives will provide program details, including rebates, tax credits, loans and other incentives at the federal, state and local levels. People who have installed solar electric equipment on their homes or businesses will share their experiences. Policymakers from the federal, state and local governments will talk about how they plan to support and promote solar energy. Representatives from grass-roots level organizations that promote solar energy in California will also share their experiences on how they gathered support and developed local solar programs.
Family activities, including live music and entertainment, food, and wine/beer tasting, will be part of the celebration.
"Kyocera is delighted to be a part of the Sebastopol Solar Celebration Fair," said Doug Allday, President of Kyocera Solar, Inc. "It is very encouraging to see a city unite behind a solar program and take action toward achieving their goal of using clean electricity throughout their community," he added.
