Fairfield, New Jersey, September 16, 2003 - Kyocera Mita, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, has launched three new high performance, multifunctional digital products, the KM-3035 / KM-4035 / KM-5035. These devices are a new generation of MFP that combine network printing and scanning, copying and faxing with exceptional reliability, superior image quality and an affordable price.

“By incorporating Kyocera Mita’s user-friendly technology, including our universal KX print driver, and our versatile print, copy, scan and fax features, organizations will be able to use the new devices as powerful tools for all of their day-to-day complex applications,” said Michael Pietrunti, vice president, marketing for Kyocera Mita America. “Designed to economically manage the output demands of fast-paced workgroups, these cost-effective document solutions can mean significant savings for any organization, through conserved resources, reduced maintenance and increased workflow efficiency.”

The KM-3035 is a 30 page per minute (ppm) device that features a maximum monthly volume of 85,000 and a drum life up to 400,000 impressions. The KM-4035 is a 40-ppm unit with a maximum monthly volume of 120,000 and a drum that lasts up to 500,000 impressions. Lastly, the KM-5035 provides users with a maximum monthly volume of 150,000 pages and a drum that yields 500,000 impressions.

All three machines have optional printing and scanning capabilities. When used for network printing, the devices come standard with 64MB (upgradeable to 576MB) of RAM. The optional print Hard Disk Drive (HDD) provides several capabilities, including document printing and e-MPS functions, private print, job storage, quick copy, proof and hold, and virtual mailboxes. The optional network print system supports all popular operating systems and page description languages including PRESCRIBE, PCL6 (PCL XL, PCL 5e). For enhanced productivity, the PDF Direct Print Utility allows a user to print PDF files outside of the application and utilize all the finishing options associated with the MFPs. All three devices include a standard High Speed USB 2.0 interface for added connectivity.

The KM-3035 / KM-4035 / KM-5035 each come standard with a 3-way, 1200 sheet paper supply (Max. 4,200) and duplex. Optional advanced finishing and paper handling are also available. All three devices also have the option of being upgraded with a 20GB HDD. The copier HDD allows onboard storage of up to 70,000 letter-sized documents.

The network scanning capability is TWAIN compliant, and provides users with 50 originals per minute scanning (PDF or TIFF, up to 600 dpi, simplex or duplex) on all three devices. Additionally, the devices offer KM Document Flow System, a document management system, Scan-to-e-mail with the LDAP functionality, which allows users to access and search a corporate e-mail database, and Scan-to-file for Mac and PC.

Network fax capability on the KM-3035 / KM-4035 / KM-5035 includes Super G3/33.6 Kbps for high-speed delivery of documents. Users can also send and receive faxes from a desktop, direct incoming faxes to specific folders, store frequently used destinations, attach cover letters and add messages.

Users also have the option to integrate the KM-3035 / KM-4035 / KM-5035 onto the network with the IB-22 (802.11b) embedded wireless LAN Interface for all their printing needs. This interface allows users to place the system where they need it to enhance their floor space design, all without the cost of running additional network cabling.

Kyocera Mita was recently honored for the second consecutive year in a row with top ratings in the annual multi-functional product (MFP) survey of service managers throughout the United States conducted by Industry Analysts, Inc. Kyocera Mita received the highest supplier rating for MFPs and scored well above competitors in such categories as reliability, quality and cost of service.

The KM-3035 / KM-4035 / KM-5035 come with long-life components including amorphous silicon drums and are backed by the most comprehensive warranty in the industry. This translates into fewer maintenance calls, more up-time and increased productivity.
