KYOCERA Wireless Salutes XL Telecom for Long-Term Support as Sales Distributor and Assembly Partner
Relationship Key to Development of Successful Sales, Distribution Network and Assembly Business, and Enabling KYOCERA Wireless to Offer End-to-End CDMA Solution
New Delhi, India -- (March 24, 2006) -- In recognition of the important role that Kyocera Wireless partner XL Telecom has played in the development and increasing success of Kyocera Wireless as a leading CDMA handset maker, the company is saluting XL Telecom on the 5th year anniversary of its work together.XL Telecom was instrumental in developing the original country-wide distribution framework for Kyocera Wireless and is now responsible for sales in the open market for the southern and western regions. Kyocera Wireless also credits XL Telecom with helping set up its initial national sales support network. Now run by Kyocera Wireless directly, the company has 240 service centers with 155 more slated for the end of 2006.
XL Telecom also assembles Kyocera Wireless products in India, providing a key component to Kyocera Wireless' ability to offer an end-to-end solution -- from design to delivery -- one of the only CDMA manufacturers in India to offer this capability. The company's special state-of-the art SKD facility in Cherlapally, Hyderabad -- built specifically for Kyocera -- has the capacity to assemble 10,000 handsets per day, greatly contributing to the nearly 2 million units Kyocera has delivered to the Indian market to date.
"From the dedication that XL Telecom has shown in helping us build and expand our network of sales and distribution to the initiative they've shown by establishing an assembly plant just for Kyocera Wireless, they've always been truly committed to our business in India," said Patrick Costello, International Sales Manager for Kyocera Wireless, of which Kyocera Wireless India is a division.
"It is extremely important to us that XL Telecom be recognized for the significant role they have played and continue to play in the success of our business as we celebrate five years of working together. We're proud of our collaboration and excited at the continued opportunities we see as we work to make Kyocera one of the top CDMA brands in the market," added Mr. Costello.
"XL seized the opportunity to tie-up with Kyocera five years back and it was one of the better decisions we have made as a company," said Dinesh Kumar, CEO and Managing Director of XL Telecom. "We are behind the growth of the Kyocera brand 100% and will always put our best foot forward to ensure that Kyocera Wireless becomes one of the most successful CDMA brands in this country. "
The support that XL Telecom has provided Kyocera over the last five years has helped Kyocera provide full support to its carriers, while helping ensure customer satisfaction to end-users. Some of those contributions include:
- The design and set up of the state-of-the-art SKD manufacturing plant at its factory in Cherlapalli, Hyderabad - with capacity of about 10K handsets per day
- The organization and set up of Kyocera's first national after-sales support system which it ran for two years,
