KYOCERA Wireless Corp. Names Tom Maguire VP of Global Marketing
Former Motorola Exec Brings 17 Years of Wireless Experience in U.S. and Abroad to Lead Kyocera Wireless Corp.'s Marketing Team
SAN DIEGO -- (March 23, 2006) -- Kyocera Wireless Corp., a leading global supplier of CDMA wireless handsets and devices, today announced Tom Maguire as its new vice president of global marketing. Kyocera Wireless Corp. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Kyocera International Inc. with principal markets in the Americas, India, Australia and New Zealand. Maguire will oversee all marketing activities for Kyocera Wireless Corp., including branding, advertising, public relations and channel marketing.Maguire brings 17 years of experience in the wireless industry, beginning in 1988 when he joined Motorola as an account executive for two-way radios. After holding a variety of sales and marketing positions he became Motorola Asia Pacific's regional vice president and country general manager for the company's Southeast Asia business. During his years with Motorola, Maguire proved successful at building relationships with carriers and big-box retailers throughout North America, Latin America and Asia. He also served as an internal liaison between engineering, sales and marketing to maximize sales. His various positions at Motorola gave him a comprehensive understanding of marketing - from merchandising, branding and channel marketing to public relations and online campaigns.

Prior to his position as regional vice president at Motorola, Maguire served as director of global marketing communications and sales support for the company's global marketing team. He was trained through the Motorola University/Kellogg Business School in building consumer brand loyalty and brand awareness, and completed certification in NEO retail sales training and sales excellence/negotiations. Maguire has spoken at industry conferences throughout the world.
