KYOCERA Mita America Launches iTag, a Document Management Solution for Small Businesses and Departments
iTag Allows End Users to Easily Capture, Index and Store, Retrieve and Share Electronic Documents, Saving Money, Time and Effort
Fairfield, New Jersey – May 24, 2006 – Kyocera Mita America, one of the world’s leading document imaging companies, today announced the launch of iTag, a scalable, user-friendly document management solution that offers all of the capabilities small businesses and departments need to manage their document workflow easily and cost-effectively. iTag allows users to capture, index, store, retrieve and share electronic documents at the touch of a button, eliminating the time-consuming and costly processes associated with filing, organizing and sharing a large number of documents.
“A smart document management strategy has become increasingly critical for businesses of all sizes, not only to streamline their workflow processes but also to abide by compliance regulations like Sarbanes Oxley,” said Keith Kmetz, program director of hardcopy peripherals solutions and services programs, IDC. “Companies are continuously striving to reduce costs associated with core business processes, and document management tools such as Kyocera’s iTag solution, can play a key role by helping manage workflow.”
iTag seamlessly integrates with select Kyocera multifunctional products (MFPs) and comes standard with a Dell server pre-loaded with iTag software, a kiosk and touch screen validation station, server stand, one Kyocera MFP device license and Microsoft Windows® Sharepoint Services. The validation station enables users to easily perform document clean up prior to distribution by reviewing a scanned and indexed document and reordering or removing pages from a multi-page file before storing it in the Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services document library.
“Today’s customers are looking for a straight-forward yet scalable document management solution that will improve their business processes and enhances productivity,” said Peter Hendrick, vice president of marketing, Kyocera Mita America. “iTag gives customers the power to implement an innovative document management solution that will show a fast return on investment while at the same time offering flexibility to evolve as their business needs grow.”
iTag also allows users the option of upgrading to KYOcapture, Kyocera’s award-winning server-based document capture workflow solution. As a business’ document management needs grow, KYOcapture seamlessly integrates with existing or new document management systems. As a portal through which documents can travel, KYOcapture offers intelligent document capture, processing and routing to virtually any content management application.
By linking directly to an end user’s network, iTag’s kiosk and validation station can be placed wherever it is most convenient; it does not need to be located next to an office MFP. Administrators can manage document security and access while users have the flexibility and customization they need to share information and get their work done efficiently and productively.

iTag is available through authorized Kyocera dealers at an MSRP of $15,000. To find the nearest dealer, log onto Kyocera Mita America’s dealer locator at www.kyoceramita.com/us.
