KYOCERA Mita America Earns BERTL Readers' Choice End User Platinum Award

Worldwide survey of end users showcases KYOCERA leadership in “low running costs”

Fairfield, New Jersey, January 18, 2006 -- Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, today announced it has received the 2005 BERTL Readers’ Choice End User Platinum Award in the category of Running Costs. The award is the result of a worldwide survey conducted by BERTL to determine how end users view the overall running costs of printer and copier manufacturers.

“The issue of running costs is critical for end-users,” said Roberto Baez, senior vice president, client relations, BERTL. “By implementing a lower running cost device, a company can save thousands of dollars over the course of a contract. BERTL continues to be impressed with Kyocera’s ability to develop high performance, reliable products that consistently offer the industry’s lowest total cost of ownership.”

By incorporating long-life consumables with a lower total cost per print, Kyocera products maintain high productivity levels and exceptional image quality. Kyocera’s cartridge-free ECOSYS® printer technology, which virtually eliminates the need to replace the print drum and other cartridge components, which is typically performed many times over the life of a conventional printer. This not only cuts down on the amount of waste, but also reduces toner replacement costs by two thirds compared to other printers. With an industry-leading lowest total cost of ownership, Kyocera products are an affordable solution to any organization’s needs.

BERTL’s worldwide survey received 2,107 responses from enterprise buyers and technical professionals in 56 countries responsible for managing for than 195,000 devices. Readers were polled to determine how they viewed each manufacturer’s overall running cost.

“Customers are too often swayed by initial acquisition costs, without realizing the tremendous savings they can earn by focusing instead on the lifetime cost associated with owning office equipment,” said Peter Hendrick, vice president of marketing, Kyocera Mita America. “This award confirms our commitment to creating products that minimize costs over the lifespan of that product.”
