KYOCERA Mita America Implements New Distribution Strategy to Better Service Dealers Nationwide

New Central Distribution Facility in Memphis, Tenn. to Serve 70 percent of the United States

Fairfield, New Jersey –August 15, 2006 – Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document imaging companies, today announced that a distribution center in Memphis, Tennessee, will become the hub of its new national product distribution network. Beginning September 1, 2006, the company will service 70 percent of the country from a single Memphis location near the Memphis International Airport.

Customized to meet Kyocera’s logistical and technological needs, the new distribution center is 300,000 square feet in size and will join existing California and New Jersey based facilities in managing product distribution across the entire country. Kyocera will eliminate satellite locations from its distribution network, resulting in reduced complexity and improved efficiency for the company and its dealers.

“A centralized distribution facility such as the one in Memphis makes sense on a number of levels, both for us and for our dealers,” said Michael Pietrunti, president and chief operating officer, Kyocera Mita America. “By implementing an integrated and streamlined 3-point distribution network, Kyocera will be able to maintain more efficient inventory levels. In addition our new strategy will facilitate cost reduction, fewer shipping points and significantly increase our ship-complete ratio. Our dealers will realize a lasting benefit. We are excited about the role that Memphis will play in our national strategy.”

Kyocera Mita America will rely on two distribution centers to service the remaining 30% of the country not handled by Memphis. A warehouse in California will manage distribution to dealerships on the West Coast, while a New Jersey facility will service New York, New Jersey and New England. In addition, Kyocera will repurpose a facility in Dallas to handle the distribution of parts to the entire United States. The resulting network will be more efficient and more cost-effective.
