Virgin Mobile USA Debuts a Pearl of a Phone: Oystr by KYOCERA Wireless

Pearly White Handset with Clamshell Design Offers Customers a Host of Smart Wireless Features in One Simple Design

WARREN, N.J. and SAN DIEGO, CA -- (July 26, 2006) -- Virgin Mobile USA is flashing its pearly whites this summer as it debuts its brand new metallic ivory handset called Oystr, by Kyocera Wireless. The newest clamshell available from the nation's top wireless provider to the youth market will hit retailers this week.

Oystr - appropriately named for its lustrous white color and clamshell form factor - offers customers such essentials as an internal color display, two-way speaker phone, text messaging, and customized Virgin Mobile hardware. Simple in design yet well-equipped, Oystr also includes Web browsing and access to Virgin Mobile content, such as pre-loaded wallpapers, screensavers, and Superphonic (a.k.a., real-music) Ringtones. Weighing just over 3 ounces, Oystr offers users up to 220 minutes of battery talk time and up to 200 hours of battery standby.

"Oystr is sleek and simple with great functionality," said Howard Handler, chief marketing officer for Virgin Mobile USA. "And coming in at a really affordable price point, it's another good example of the breadth of Virgin Mobile's handset line."

"For teens, a mobile phone is as much a part of their unique style as running shoes or sunglasses," said Tom Maguire, vice president of global marketing at Kyocera Wireless Corp. "Oystr's unique look and feature set will appeal not only to the youth market Virgin Mobile targets, but also to parents who want a sensible, affordable pre-paid phone for their kids."

Oystr by Kyocera Wireless will be available beginning July 26, 2006 at over 25,000 retail locations nationwide, including Amazon.com, Best Buy, RadioShack, Rite Aid, Sprint Stores, Target, and select Follett Campus bookstores.
