KYOCERA Mita America Products Added to Prestigious Government Security Checklist

National Institute of Standards and Technology Security Checklist Now Includes KYOCERA's KM-6030 and KM-8030 Multifunctional Products

FAIRFIELD, New Jersey – December 10, 2007 – Kyocera Mita America, one of the world's leading document solutions companies, today proudly announced that two of its monochrome multifunctional products (MFP), the KM-6030 and KM-8030, were added to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Security Checklist (http://checklists.nist.gov/). The U.S. government reviewed this checklist and considered it effective guidance for promoting security against network vulnerabilities and inefficiencies. This significant accomplishment for Kyocera, demonstrates the Company’s critical elements of data security and high-reliability, making them one of the only MFP manufacturers on the list.

The KM-6030 and KM-8030 are durable and productive MFPs developed for enterprise environments. Both products feature 600 x 600 dpi, and have the printing capability of 60 and 80 pages per minute, respectively. Recently, the KM-8030 underwent an impressive 2,500,000 page print test by Buyers Laboratory; highlighting the machine’s outstanding performance and reliability.

“Kyocera’s inclusion on the NIST Security Checklist gives us a strong competitive advantage over other key industry players,” said Victor Moro, product and solutions marketing manager, monochrome MFPs, Kyocera Mita America, Inc. “The government dictates the pace of the U.S. market when end-users are purchasing products. Kyocera’s name on the NIST Security Checklist is crucial, as it provides clear evidence that Kyocera is serious about security for our highly-reliable document imaging products; setting us apart from other manufacturers not listed.”

Kyocera’s checklist, to which the NIST’s Security Checklist now points, provides instructions and configuration recommendations for the KM-6030 and KM-8030 to promote connectivity in a secure infrastructure. The checklist relies on Kyocera’s software tools to implement most of the security settings. This checklist is intended for IT administrators who have a clear understanding of network connectivity and network protocols, and understand the security measures already in place in their organization’s network.
