Ctek Selects Kyocera 300 Module for Z4100 Wireless Router
Cost-effective, Industrial-strength Wireless Router Available as Reference Design or Stand-alone Private-label Solution
San Diego and Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif., (Sep. 10, 2008) - Kyocera Wireless Corp. (KWC), a leading global manufacturer of wireless handsets, devices and embedded machine-to-machine (M2M) modules, and Ctek, a leading manufacturer of specialized communications solutions for industrial and commercial applications, today announced the selection of the Kyocera 300 Module for Ctek's cost-effective Z4100 Router. The Kyocera 300 Module enables reliable, real-time communications over CDMA 1xRTT networks as well as integration compatibility with Cinterion's MC75i GSM module for easy CDMA-GSM interchangeability. Based on Ctek's proven SkyRouter Platform, the Z4100 router is available as a private-label product or as a reference design for new solution prototypes.
The Kyocera-enabled Z4100 router was designed to meet the demanding requirements of high-volume OEM and VAR customers and provides cost-effective, high-speed data communication over CDMA networks. It incorporates Ctek's signature "must have" features including Ethernet and serial interfaces, as well as discrete I/O and SMS capability. Available as a reference design along with development tools, the Z4100 enables customers to quickly design, build and bring to market unique solutions customized for diverse end-users. In addition, the Z4100 can be easily adapted for GSM networks by integrating Cinterion's GSM-based MC75i module, which was designed in partnership with Kyocera Wireless to share the same footprint and features as the Kyocera 300 Module.
"We chose the Kyocera 300 Module for its ability to enable powerful, real-time communications over 1xRTT CDMA networks, its CDMA-GSM interchangeability as well as for Kyocera's outstanding engineering expertise and support," said Bill Buchan, president of Ctek, Inc. "With the Z4100, we've created a product that provides OEMs and VARs with the important ability to build brand equity and to quickly develop unique solutions for specific markets. These features, along with Ctek's streamlined hardware and software advantages, provide the economical solution our customers demand."
"Ctek's Z4100 router is a fantastic platform to showcase not only the rich feature set of the new Kyocera 300 module, but also the seamless CDMA/GSM interchangeability we can offer as a result of our forward-thinking collaboration with Cinterion," said Dean Fledderjohn, general manager of the M2M product line at KWC. "Ctek and other system integrators require M2M solutions that deliver dependable performance across diverse wireless networks and, through industry-leading technology and partnerships, Kyocera is committed meeting that demand."
