KYOCERA MITA America Color ECOSYS Printers Awarded 2009 Editor's Choice Awards from Better Buys for Business

The Kyocera FS-C5300DN and FS-C5200DN color printers earn highest honors.

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – May 14, 2009 – Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, is proud to announce that Better Buys for Business, a leading independent authority on document imaging equipment, has recognized Kyocera’s FS-C5300DN and FS-C5200DN with 2009 Editor’s Choice Awards. As part of Kyocera’s ECOSYS® line of environmentally friendly printers, both Energy Star certified models utilize long-life consumables while consistently delivering high-quality image output.

According to Better Buys for Business the FS-C5300DN and FS-C5200DN are powerful workgroup printers, offer respectable paper handling capabilities and provide impressive consumables costs. Better Buys indicated that the cost per page for black & white output is extraordinary and for color output the FS-C5300DN and FS-C5200DN offer a cost per page almost half of the industry average, remarking that this “alone makes these printers standout.”

“At Better Buys for Business, we select the most exceptional color printers on an annual basis and recommend them based on a comparison with all current models,” said Stephen Hannaford, editor, Better Buys for Business. "With these products, Kyocera has once again proven itself to be a very strong player in the printer market, with highly-reliable and consistent devices.”

In selecting the Editor's Choice Award models, Better Buys for Business evaluates new products in a number of categories, including product area; features and technology vendor profiles; a detailed summary on most models from most vendors; full specifications; and pricing information including cost per page. Kyocera’s outstanding printer technology enabled them to secure a ranking in the prestigious award winners’ category.

Kyocera’s recognition from Better Buys for Business is the latest in a number of recent industry awards the company has received. Kyocera was recently recognized with the 2009 BERTL Readers’ Choice Award for Monochrome Reliability and Quality for segments 4-6 and two 2009 Channel Choice Awards from the Business Technology Association (BTA) in the categories of Product Line and Distribution, based on survey results from independent office technology dealers. The Channel Choice Award for Product Line recognized Kyocera’s printers and Multifunctional products (MFPs) for offering strong performance, reliability and effectiveness. For the Channel Choice Award for Distribution, Kyocera was recognized for their dedication to supporting dealers with fair and equitable agreements, strong advertising support, and offering pricing models that are competitive and profitable for dealers.

In addition to honors from the office dealership community, Kyocera has also received awards from Federal organizations for their environmental products and business practices. Kyocera won the 2008 Evergreen Award for the second time from the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) Integrated Workplace Acquisition Center (IWAC) in the category of Technologies and Electronics. The award recognized the leading GSA vendor for their commitment to providing office technology solutions that recognize the importance of recycling, affirmative procurement and waste reduction. Kyocera was also awarded the 2008 Excellence in Partnership (EIP) award for Industry Green Contractor from the U.S. Government's General Services Administration (GSA) and the Coalition for Government Procurement. The Industry Green Contractor award was presented to the vendor who made the strongest commitment to the environment by offering environmentally-friendly products and adhering to environmentally-sound manufacturing and operating procedures.
