KYOCERA MITA America Expands Lineup of Color and Monochrome Multifunctional Printers

Advanced Business Applications Now Available for Kyocera’s FS-C2626MFP and FS-C2526MFP color MFPs, and FS-3640MFP and FS-3540MFP Black & White MFPs

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – July 20, 2010 - Kyocera Mita America, Inc., one of the world's leading document solutions companies, today introduced an expanded lineup of its energy efficient and cost effective multifunctional printers (MFPs). The FS-C2626MFP and FS-C2526MFP 28 page per minute (ppm) color MFPs, and the FS-3640MFP and FS-3540MFP 42ppm Black & White MFPs, round out Kyocera’s ECOSYS® line of environmentally friendly products, meeting Energy Star™ guidelines for power efficiency and utilizing long-life consumables for consistent high-quality color and monochrome output and a low total cost of ownership.

The FS-C2626MFP / FS-C2526MFP and FS-3640MFP / FS-3540MFP color and monochrome MFPs bring intelligent features and robust functionality in a footprint ideal for small or large workgroups. By including standard features such as print, copy and scan (Fax included with the FS-C2626MFP and FS-3640MFP) in one compact device with low total cost of ownership, fast speeds and superior image quality, these new MFPs provide the functionality that easily fits into any office environment. Additionally, Kyocera’s ECOSYS technology provides the FS-C2626MFP and FS-C2526MFP color MFPs and FS-3640MFP and FS-3540MFP monochrome MFPs with long-life consumables and components which deliver maximum business “uptime” with industry leading preventive maintenance schedules, contributing to the ultra-reliability and low total cost of ownership customers expect from Kyocera.

Kyocera’s new MFPs not only provide a low total cost of ownership and are energy efficient, they’re also HyPAS capable; transforming these MFPs into high-powered tools for running Kyocera’s Business Applications with the addition of a compact flash card.

The FS-C2626MFP and FS-C2526MFP color MFPs and FS-3640MFP and FS-3540MFP monochrome MFPs launched today with a new business application, powered by HyPAS, called Teaching Assistant. Kyocera Teaching Assistant, an affordable test creation, grading and analysis solution designed to streamline classroom workflow and boost student achievement. Kyocera Teaching Assistant simplifies the task of printing, collecting and analyzing multiple-choice test results using bubble-sheet forms. Designed as an embedded solution on select Kyocera multifunctional products (MFP), Teaching Assistant drives classroom efficiency without requiring network resources, IT support, server software or PC connection. In addition to Teaching Assistant, below is a short selection of applications available from Kyocera for this series of MFPs:

 

  • Capture2Go is a mobile document capture application available via the Apple AppStore on iTunes for the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Capture2go allows end-users to seamlessly scan and print documents on the Kyocera series of MFPs, enabling them to review and distribute documents via their mobile device.

     

  • Kyocera offers advanced integration with OpenText RightFax, allowing users to scan and send documents to the RightFax server directly from Kyocera MFPs for full fax server integration.

     

  • With Kyocera’s SharePoint connector, Microsoft SharePoint users are able to logon to the SharePoint account, scan documents into a SharePoint folder and search/print the document directly from the Kyocera MFP device panel.

     

  • DMS Link, is a customizable document management interface, which allows users to index documents at the control panel and route them to popular document management systems, such as SentryFile, Laserfiche, or shared folders on the network.

     

  • Kyocera Card Authentication Solution permits a RFIDeas Card Reader to be embedded in the front of the device, within the operation panel, giving organizations better control over their MFPs by allowing users to gain access to the Kyocera MFP with a simple swipe of a proximity-enabled ID badge – authorizing user’s access, based on LDAP or active directory permissions, improving document security.

     

The new MFPs provide the user with monochrome and color scanning capabilities including scan to PC, scan to e-mail, Scan to FTP, scan to USB, WSD scan and TWAIN scan. The devices come standard with a versatile front-loading USB Host interface, which provides end-users with Print-from and Scan-to capabilities in PDF, TIFF and XPS file formats. This interface makes it easier to work between hard copy and electronic files without a computer, therefore, improving overall productivity and workflow efficiency.

For improved ease-of-use, standard network printing includes a PowerPC440/800 MHz processor and 1GB of RAM standard The FS-C2626MFP, FS-C2526MFP, FS-3640MFP and FS-3540MFP support multiple page description languages, including Kyocera’s PRESCRIBE, PCL6 (5e, XL), KPDL3 (PS3 compatible), and XPS, and can be connected in any Windows®, Mac or Linux environment.

Kyocera’s new color and monochrome MFPs incorporate an extensive list of standard features intended to improve the productivity of any office, offering flexible paper handling, standard paper-saving duplex and superior image performance, all in a compact, economical and ecological desktop footprint. Capable of handling paper sizes from statement to legal, the FS-3640MFP and FS-3540MFP offer a maximum 2,100 sheet paper capacity and the FS-C2626MFP and FS-C2526MFP offer a maximum 1,300 sheet capacity for higher-volume output requirements.
