KYOCERA Document Solutions America Releases New HyPAS Business Applications

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – July 23, 2012 - Kyocera Document Solutions America, one of the world's leading document solutions companies, has released additional functionality for two of its popular HyPAS business applications, DMS Link 4.0 for document capture and distribution, and its SharePoint Connector 4.0 for document management. In total, the new features will deliver value for many critical business environments and further support strategic document workflows for end-users of HyPAS-enabled Kyocera Multifunctional Products (MFP).

DMS Link, a Kyocera-developed business application, leverages a network-connected Kyocera MFP to seamlessly link to your existing document management system. Users have access to simple, familiar touch-screen operations, enabling fast entry of business-specific data (indexing) and scanning of hardcopy; the electronic file is automatically routed to a designated document repository. From a network computer, indexed files – purchase orders, invoices, contracts, and more – are easily searchable from a central database.

Kyocera’s SharePoint Connector offers an intuitive Scan-to-SharePoint feature. With this application, you can simply access documents on the SharePoint server directly from your MFP’s control panel. While at the device, you can browse SharePoint Document Libraries, create new folders, and scan-to and print directly from SharePoint. And with 24/7 access, authorized users can browse to their existing SharePoint Document Library from any network PC, simplifying and automating the document sharing experience. Kyocera’s new SharePoint Connector supports SharePoint 2007 and 2010, as well SharePoint Online.

From saving time and frustration in managing documents to decreased administrative labor costs by eliminating manual data entry, DMS Link 4.0 and SharePoint Connector 4.0 can improve the workflow of any office environment. DMS Link 4.0 and SharePoint Connector 4.0 deliver several new features for enterprise business environments as well as robust adaptability for meeting specialized vertical workflow needs within the enterprise, healthcare, finance, education and legal sectors.

These new features include:

  • Advanced optical character recognition, powered by OmniPage OCR, as an option, to create editable documents such as Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as PDF, HTML and others.
  • Standard e-mail routing, Customized Icons and improved GUI; DMS Link also offers a simple to use Wizard for setting and configuring business workflows
  • The ability to scan, retrieve, print and index documents at the MFP using existing a SharePoint folder structure
  • Enterprise-wide access to information, with support for multiple SharePoint servers
