KYOCERA Document Solutions Adopts "“IBM SCE+"” Cloud Service for its Global CRM System

Aiming to expand its business by globally unifying group-wide sales support system

KYOCERA Document Solutions Inc. (President: Katsumi Komaguchi), today announced that it has adopted IBM Japan’s (President: Martin Jetter; NYSE: IBM) cloud computing service IBM SmarterCloud Enterprise+ (herein “IBM SCE+”) to structure its globally unified customer relationship management (CRM) system “FOCUS”*1. KYOCERA Document Solutions is the first Japanese enterprise to adopt the IBM SCE+ service globally, with the company’s FOCUS system having just begun full-scale operation from this month.

As the document management environment within the business world is currently undergoing vast change, KYOCERA Document Solutions has been expanding its provision of “total document solutions” by continuously supporting its customers through the combination of various business applications and by proposing optimum document management environments.

“FOCUS” is KYOCERA Document Solutions’ unique globally unified CRM system which supports the management of customers, sales, forecasts, business meetings and marketing. With the implementation of FOCUS, consolidation of customer management, for example, under a unified corporate governance system is possible; and it also enables prompt and optimal action to be taken in customer service, thus enhancing the company’s management precision.

The FOCUS system’s adoption of IBM’s Managed Cloud Service IBM SCE+ utilizes the linkage of the existing data center in Japan along with the SCE+ cloud data centers in the U.S. and Germany. The IBM SCE+ cloud service supports customers’ backbone systems, and provides service management and security capability in the cloud environment.

In regards to the adoption of IBM SCE+, Mr. Ryuzo Morita, Director of KYOCERA Document Solutions and Senior General Manager of its Corporate Strategy Planning Division said, “We see increasing productivity in our marketing support and enhancing sales through a globally unified operation as important keys to expanding our business. I believe that we have made the right decision in choosing IBM SCE+ to provide higher quality services to our customers all over the world.”

KYOCERA Document Solutions will enhance its business by taking advantage of FOCUS to increase productivity in sales support.

*1 “FOCUS” is KYOCERA Document Solutions’ unique CRM system named after the company’s concept: “For Customer Satisfaction.”
