KYOCERA Document Solutions America Color Multifunctional Product Wins 'Winter Pick 2014' and 'Highly Recommended' from Buyers Laboratory

The TASKalfa 5551ci Color MFP Proven To Be ‘Highly Reliable’ In BLI Lab Tests

FAIRFIELD, N.J. – March 12, 2014 – KYOCERA Document Solutions America, Inc., one of the world’s leading document solutions companies, today announced that Buyers Laboratory LLC (BLI) “Highly Recommends” the TASKalfa 5551ci color multifunctional product (MFP). BLI, a leading provider of product intelligence for the imaging industry, also awarded the Kyocera TASKalfa 5551ci color MFP its “Winter Pick 2014” award for “Outstanding 51- to 60-ppm A3 Color MFP.” The independent lab pointed to the MFP’s reliability and overall performance as two reasons for the strong recommendations.

When releasing the results for the TASKalfa 5551ci, BLI cited speeds of 50 pages-per-minute (ppm) in color and 55 ppm in black, as well as “above average scan capabilities, including small compressed color scan file sizes and faster than average scan speeds in duplex mode.” BLI also reported that the robust color MFP exceeded rated toner yields for all four colors. Of equal importance was the MFP’s ability to multitask. BLI found that the TASKalfa MFP “experiences virtually no delays between jobs, and the number of print jobs that can be sent to the device is limited only by memory capacity.”

Perhaps most significant, BLI lauded the Kyocera MFP’s value. BLI’s objective pricing analysis revealed that “the TASKalfa 5551ci is priced lower than average for comparably equipped models, while providing a very good feature set that includes among the highest standard memory and hard drive capacities, as well as the highest maximum paper capacity, for competitive models.”
