KYOCERA International, Inc. founded in 1969, is a subsidiary of Kyocera Corporation. Dr. Kazuo Inamori, Kyocera's founder and chairman emeritus, established this first Kyocera company outside of Japan in what is now Silicon Valley. As a result, Kyocera became the first Japanese technology manufacturer in the State of California.
