Kyocera Selected for Inclusion in Dow Jones Sustainability Asia-Pacific Index for Second Consecutive Year
- Corporate
Kyocera Corporation (President: Hideo Tanimoto; hereinafter, "Kyocera") today announced it has qualified as a constituent of the Dow Jones Sustainability Asia-Pacific Index for the second consecutive year. The Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) are designed for investors to track sustainability leaders on equity markets using a best-in-class selection process.
The DJSI is an index jointly developed by S&P Dow Jones Indices LLC in the United States and Robeco Holding B.V. ("RobecoSAM") in Switzerland in 1999. The index evaluates companies from the perspective of Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria, and selects leading enterprises for inclusion in the DJSI. The constituents of DJSI are reviewed annually; 156 companies including 74 Japanese companies were selected for DJSI Asia Pacific in 2022 from among 600 companies in the Asia-Pacific region.
Kyocera received high marks in the selection process for its proactive disclosure of corporate social responsibility efforts in a range of areas, including climate change, human rights, diversity & inclusion, and supply chains management through its integrated report and corporate sustainability site.
The Kyocera Group will continue to enhance communications and disclosures with stakeholders in order to increase its value to society as a responsible enterprise.
