SAN DIEGO – February 12, 2024 – Kyocera will showcase its rugged mobile solutions to help improve agriculture operations at World Ag Expo® in Tulare, Calif., Feb. 13-15 (Booth 2111). By combining a mobile scanning solution with an ultra-rugged MIL-STD Android device — such as Kyocera’s DuraForce PRO 3 smartphone, DuraSport 5G smartphone or rugged DuraSlate Wi-Fi Tablet — users get the best of both worlds. Waterproof, washable, dust- and drop-proof1 devices with all-day batteries2 can provide vital mobile functions like high-resolution images of orchards and farms, precise GPS locations of workers, reliable voice and text, plus instant push-to-talk3 (PTT) when time is critical. Combined with mobile scanning for data collection, soil moisture readings, and inventory control, these mobile solutions are helping to improve operations in settings ranging from small farms to large-scale agribusiness.
Kyocera will exhibit its rugged devices in combination with ASReader scanners for harsh farming environments, including:
Data Collection – for scanning 1D/2D barcodes and RFID tags.
Soil Moisture Scanning – for reliable collection of real-time data directly from the field to help improve yields and minimize impacts from rising prices of water, fertilizer and energy.
Inventory/Asset Scanning – making inventory tracking faster, easier and more accurate by scanning barcodes directly from the camera app.
Kyocera’s PTT Instant Communication mobile app will also be on display, showing reliable,
instant two-way radio communication — a key feature for Ag workers — with dedicated buttons, loud speakers, powerful batteries and field-ready accessories. Kyocera’s full line of affordable, rugged devices and other partner mobile solutions for the Ag industry will be demonstrated at Booth 2111 and various partner booths throughout the show.
